چکیده
The fate of pharmaceuticals during the treatment effluents is major concern since they are not completely degraded and because their persistence mobility in environment. Indeed, even at low concentrations, represent a risk to aquatic life human health. In this work, fourteen were monitored constructed wetland wastewater plants (WWTP) assessed both influent effluent samples. basic water quality parameters evaluated, removal efficiency pharmaceutical, potential for bioaccumulation, impact WWTP using Polar Organic Chemical Integrative Sampler (POCIS) biofilms. pharmaceutical compounds quantified by High Performance Liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. sampling campaign was carried out winter (July/2018) summer (January/2019). performed well regarding TSS, COD, BOD5 succeeded eliminate significant part organic inorganic pollution present domestic but has compounds. Biofilms shown interact with reported play role capture from water. antibiotics display high organisms.

Removal of Pharmaceutical Products in a Constructed Wetland
Background: There is growing interest in the natural and constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment. While nutrient removal in wetlands has been extensively investigated, information regarding the degradation of the pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) has only recently been emerging. PPCPs are widely distributed in urban wastewaters and can be removed to some extent by the con...
متن کاملNutrient removal efficiency by floating macrophytes; Lemna minor and Azolla pinnata in a constructed wetland
The use of constructed wetlands for purifying pre-treated wastewater is a cost effective technology that has been found to be more appropriate for many developing countries. The technology is also environmentally friendly with the wetlands being habitats for many water birds and other aquatic organisms. This study assessed nutrient removal efficiency of two floating macrophytes (Lemna minor...

متن کاملConstructed Wetland Treatment of Nitrates: Removal Effectiveness and Cost Efficiency
A constructed wetland (CW) was strategically placed to treat nitrates in groundwater as part of a watershed-based farmer engagement process. Using stream water quality data collected before and after installation, this CW was found to reduce stream concentrations of nitrogen from nitrate (NO3-N) during the growing season by about 0.14 mg/l at mean streamflow, a 17% reduction. Based upon realist...
متن کاملNitrogen removal in constructed wetland systems
Since the mid 1990s, constructed wetlands have been increasingly used as a lowenergy ‘green’ technique, in the treatment of wastewater and stormwater, driven by the rising cost of fossil fuels and increasing concern about climate change. Among various applications of these wetlands, a significant area is the removal of nitrogenous pollutants to protect the water environment and to enable effect...
